For our fourth theme Land/Body, we are hosting a Death Cafe, an open discussion around death, the body, matter, spirituality, landscape and whatever else may come into play when contemplating death. We will look to explore the relationship between food and death in rituals, culture, religion and society. The Death Cafe is a social franchise, the model of which was developed by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, based on the ideas of Bernard Crettaz. A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support of counselling session.
We invite you to join us in drinking tea, eating cakes (baked on the day) and discussing death. The aim our our Death Cafe, like that of all others, is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives.
Date: 12th October 2104.
Spaces are strictly limited. Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org reserve a place.
